About

For massage therapists and bodyworkers bringing vibration into hands-on work. Great for beginners and massage enthusiasts too.

Everything you need to bring tuning forks into your massage practice, in one box: two weighted Otto Tuners, two Soma Glider Boots, an activator, and Michael Reed Gach's Acupressure's Potent Points.

Two octaves, two depths. The Otto 128 Hz is the classic body tuner. The Otto 64 Hz sits one octave below, a deep and powerful frequency that is undeniable in its calming, grounding effects. Same note, one octave apart, so they sound beautiful together.

Glide, don't just press. With a Soma Glider Boot on each fork, you can glide vibration along the muscle, meridian pathways and around joints instead of moving the fork point by point. Turn your tuning forks into a massage / guasha tool for deeper tissue work.

Know exactly where to go. Gach's book shows you the points. Your forks bring the vibration. Many practitioners find a tuning fork more potent than touch alone on acupressure points.

We dare you or your clients to stay stressed once they experience these deep calming vibrations!

Benefits

Benefits:

  • Deep relaxation and soothing peace
  • Used by therapists to help ease clients dealing with muscle tension, spasms, and pain. Can be self-applied as well.
  • Encourages blood circulation
  • Brings vibration into muscle and fascia with less effort on your hands
  • Precise acupressure point work, guided by Gach's Potent Points
  • Grounds you and your client before and after a session
How to Use

Your Glider Boots attach permanently to the end of each stem, so your forks are always ready to glide.

On a point

  1. Set a positive intention for your session and take a deep inhale and exhale before you begin.
  2. With the finger or thumb of your free hand, locate the spot on the body where you want to place the tuning fork. For acupressure points, find the point in Gach's Potent Points first.
  3. Hold the fork by the stem and gently tap the body (the weighted portion) on a soft part of your body such as palm, thigh, or shoulder, or on a rubber activator, puck, or mallet. This will set the weights in motion and create a pure tone. The fork can also be activated by squeezing the weights together with thumb and forefinger and letting go. The included Sounding Puck activator works well for this.
  4. Press the Glider Boot onto the spot and make firm contact.
  5. Hold the tuning fork until you feel the vibrations stop. 1-3 activations per point.

To glide

  1. Activate the fork as above.
  2. Place the boot on the body and glide slowly along the muscle, meridian pathways and around joints.
  3. Pause to gently massage into muscles, tension, hotspots, and pain areas.
  4. Re-tap when the vibration fades.

For listening

  1. Activate both forks.
  2. Hold one about an inch from your client's left ear and the other an inch from the right ear, or move a single fork from one ear to the other over the head.
  3. The 64 and 128 are an octave apart and create a long sustained tone.

A simple session flow:

  • Ground: 64 Hz on the sacrum, 128 Hz on the sternum.
  • Work: glide the 64 along the lower back and hips; glide the 128 along the spine and shoulders.
  • Points: 3–5 Potent Points for your client's focus area.
  • Close: both forks at the ears.

If there are injured areas the fork should be used closely adjacent to those areas rather than directly on them. Avoid broken skin and areas over a pacemaker or implant.

About the Frequency

A massage therapist's secret weapon. As a massage therapist, you are always looking for effective ways to facilitate your work: nervous system grounding, more effective dissipation techniques for hotspots, deep tissue access, stubborn or sensitive issues like pain and spasm, and activation of acupressure points. SomaEnergetics curated this kit as the core starting point for massage therapists bringing vibration into their healing work.

Complement this set with the Sound Healing Starter Set – 528 Hz Love Edition to incorporate the OM Tuner and higher-frequency tools (528 Hz and the 4096 Hz Crystal Tuner) for auditory and auric (biofield) work. And for those looking to deeply incorporate sound healing into their practice, the Solfeggio Chakra Tuning Fork Bundle + Training or the Ultimate Sound Healing Tuning Fork Bundle incorporate a full suite of Soma Tools and Training.

Where to use them. All Otto forks can be used over the entire body, guided by your intuition. Traditionally, the 128 is thought of with a focus on the ribs, head, thoracic vertebrae, sternum and ilium, and the 64 on the lower lumbar vertebrae, sacrum and coccyx, where its vibration helps loosen the sacral ligaments as well as stimulating the ganglion impar, a nerve center at the base of the spine.

The 128 Hz, the root note of the Otto octave set, has been studied for its ability to stimulate nitric oxide production, increase the effectiveness of acupressure points, and down-regulate the nervous system. The 64 Hz has not yet had significant scientific study of its own, but Soma's extensive community of practitioners and sound healing enthusiasts frequently report it to be therapeutic when used on muscles and fascia for tension release and pain management.

A family with history. The tuning fork was invented by John Shore in 1711, and the 128Hz (C note A432 Hz) is among the oldest, most widely produced, and most scientifically studied tuning forks in human history. Tuned to the older A432Hz "natural" scale, the Otto family is lauded for its uses in the medical field, sound healing, meditation, and body work.

Why Otto Tuners feel different. The Otto Tuners vibrate at a low pitch, and due to their weighted ends the sound lasts longer than that of regular tuning forks; the sound vibrates into the bones for relaxation. Their frequencies are based on an 8 Hz fundamental tone raised in octaves (8 Hz, 16 Hz, 32 Hz, 64 Hz, 128 Hz). The 8 Hz fundamental, which is based on the pulsation of the planet earth (the Schumann resonance, about 7.83 Hz), is the generating tone for many of our tuning forks.

What's Included

The kit includes:

US Made Quality, Aerospace Grade resonant aluminum alloy tuning forks with Medical Grade Stainless Steel Soma Glider Boots.

Associated Course

Want hands-on training? The 128 Hz Otto is the fork used in our NCBTMB-approved, in-person OttoGlider Massage Tuning Fork Course, taught by Pat Krause at Universal Energy Massage in Cocoa, Florida, and approved for 12 CE hours. See the OttoGlider Kit.

Pairs well with:

  • Otto 32 Hz Tuning Fork – the deepest Otto, traditionally used for skin and hair work.
  • Otto 72 Hz Tuning Fork – for scar tissue work, and an 8 Hz binaural beat with your 64.
  • SomaEnergetics Body Tuners – the Otto tuners can complement any other forks we carry, including the Solfeggio Energy set. To complement the Solfeggio Energy Tuners directly, and go deeper with our Phase I, II, III certification training, we recommend our Solfeggio weighted body forks. Many massage therapists ultimately use both sets.

Why no 32 Hz? Some Otto Sets include this fork. The 32 is the longest Otto, and that length makes it a bit top-heavy and the weakest amplitude of the family. The 64 covers the deep work, with far more energy. We built this kit around the two forks practitioners actually reach for most, and put the difference into the boots and the book instead. We do love the 32 Hz for its amazingly deep tone, but we now recommend it as an optional add-on for those wanting to go even deeper.

Oils and massage creams will be offered as add-on bonus items when ready.

Doing scar work? Add the Otto 72 Hz, which also pairs with your 64 for an 8 Hz binaural beat.
