How to Use

1. Activate. Hold by the stem only. Tap one tine on an activator, puck, or rubber surface — never on metal, stone, or glass.

2. Listen. Hold near one ear (1–2 inches away) for 10 seconds. Arc over the top of the head and listen at the other ear for 10 seconds.

3. Follow the tone. Close your eyes and listen until the sound fully fades. Repeat 3–7 times, breathing slowly.

4. Sweep. Sound again and circle the fork slowly around the head and body 3–6 times, crown to feet, holding a simple intention.

5. Tune an instrument. Sound the fork and play your A. Adjust until the wavering "beat" between the two disappears.

432 Hz is the pitch of A when tuned below the modern standard of 440 Hz, which became the international norm in 1939 and an ISO standard in 1955. Before then, concert pitch varied widely — from roughly 400 to over 460 Hz — and France set an official A of 435 Hz in 1859.

The appeal of 432 is partly mathematical. Set middle C to 256 Hz (a pure power of two, known as "scientific pitch") and tune A by the classic Pythagorean ratio of 27:16, and you arrive at exactly 432 Hz.

Research is early. Small studies have linked 432 Hz music to slightly lower heart rate (Calamassi & Pomponi, 2019) and lower salivary cortisol before dental surgery (Aravena et al., 2020), but no large trials have confirmed a unique health effect. The best way to know is to listen: many people simply find 432 Hz softer, rounder, and easier to rest in, and this frequency is used in Violet Flame meditation techniques.
